About Us

Come savor the view while enjoying all-natural, homemade ice cream.

Ice House Creamery is located on beautiful Little Squam Lake in Holderness, NH.

The Building

We get a lot of questions about the Ice House Creamery barn. The property was formerly owned by The Moore family who moved the barn to its current location in 1985. The barn is a classic timber frame, originally built in the late 1800s and was used to shelter horses as well as a gun shop.

In early 2021, the Roman family purchased the property and embarked on a restoration of the barn. This included a full structural straightening of the barn, restoration of the cupola, preservation and reuse of original timbers and barn board as well as state of the art energy efficient systems. This includes the space that is now the Ice House Creamery.

Ice House Creamery

Ice House Creamery is a continuation of Sandra and Matt’s love for fun and adventure because plain and simple, they love the unexpected adventures life has to offer and who doesn’t love ice cream. From their first unexpected visit to Little Squam, Sandra and Matt fell in love and wanted a name that would honor the traditions of this special area.

Ice has been harvested on Squam Lake for over a hundred years. Every year the harvested ice is covered in sawdust and kept in ice houses until it is provided to families and camps during the summer months. Ice House Creamery wanted to honor this tradition, one of the last icing operations in New England. Ice House brings you freshest ingredients together to offer you some of the tastiest ice cream in the Lakes Region. Made in house by hand and with love.

We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
